Cancer Awareness at CD PROJEKT RED: Seven Years of Meaningful Action

Revolutionary role-playing games aren’t possible without the revolutionary people behind them, so we do all we can at CD PROJEKT RED to make sure each employee is as happy and healthy as possible. One such way is through our Cancer Awareness campaign, where every October and November we offer free check-ups to employees across Warsaw, Kraków, Wrocław, and, for the first time in 2025, Boston too.

For free, REDs can receive ultrasound exams (of the breasts, testicles, thyroid, or abdomen), a wide array of blood tests, and consultations with a dietitian to talk through results and receive advice on prevention and living healthily.

In this seventh year of the campaign, we aimed for a more holistic approach to building healthy habits. We wanted REDs to get the important results, of course, but also to learn how making a simple change or supplementation can have real impact.

To make access to this campaign and information as easy as possible, we brought health services directly into the workplace. We understand life is busy, and scheduling an appointment outside of work can be pushed back again and again. But we hope that, if our REDs see the screening stations on the way to a meeting or while heading for lunch, they just might take the step to sign up too.

When we talk about wellbeing, we can’t forget about mental health. REDs have daily access to free psychological and psychiatric consultations, and during our Cancer Awareness campaign, we highlight the access to psycho-oncologist sessions. For many, cancer is something that has touched their lives in one way or another — through a loved one, a friend, or directly themselves. Speaking to a specialist is a way to not only gain medical insight but support with coping mentally too.

During our 2025 campaign we conducted 425 ultrasound exams, 370 blood tests, and 236 dietician consultations at our Warsaw Hub alone. We announced signup dates in advance so everyone could find a convenient time, which led to all departments and seniority levels, including leadership, getting involved.

We know checks like these can be a difficult thing to confront, but we’re glad to have seen engagement increase year over year. Today, we can confidently say that Cancer Awareness is a natural and anticipated part of our calendar, with everyone seeing its value and importance.

On top of that, the campaign helps REDs become more comfortable talking about cancer and prevention. It’s a regular topic of conversation in October and November, casually discussed over coffee in the kitchen or shared in moments between meetings. Some REDs have even opened up about how early detection helped them stop the progression of disease, and it's these stories that remind us why the initiative is so important.

One vital part of the initiative is busting the myth that cancer is a disease of older people. As a statistically young organization, we understand how crucial early prevention and informed self care are. Building a healthy team means taking concrete steps like these, and removing barriers for our REDs.
